d&b installation partner SFL group install xS-Series at Scarborough YMCA theatre

Scarborough’s YMCA theatre provides the youth of this historic seaside town with an outlet to develop and express themselves through performing arts. The theatre’s busy calendar includes drama, musicals, concerts, comedy and pantomime.

SFL were asked to design and deliver an upgraded audio solution for the venue. The d&b xS-Series was recommended for its blend of top tier audio quality and economics. Patrick Smith, SFL Project Manager, comments: “d&b’s range of point source installation loudspeakers, the xS-Series, were the perfect product for the YMCA theatre. The sound quality is second to none, whilst the installation specific range saves on the price of d&b’s renowned touring systems due to simplified rigging options more suited to installation, so you get the best of both worlds. The 10D installation amplifier is also a great companion – again designed specifically for installation, you get all the same control, processing and output power as you would from a pair of D6 touring amplifiers, but in a single, competitively priced, four channel installation amplifier.”

The completed system deployed 2x 12S as the main front of house speakers, supplemented by a pair of 5S front fills and 2x 27S compact cardioid subwoofers, all driven from a 10D amplifier.
